Another day, another award for Auburn forward Johni Broome. One day after winning the Player of the Year award by the Southeastern Conference, Auburn's star forward claimed the Associated Press SEC Player of the Year award on Tuesday over worthy candidates such as Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr.

Auburn star forward Johni Broome's run of good fortune remained in flow Wednesday as he has locked up another Player of the Year honor. After winning two SEC Player of the Year nods, Broome earned his first National Player of the Year award Wednesday by Sporting News.

Johni Broome was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year on Monday, helping lead Auburn to a regular season conference title. The award was voted on by the conference’s head coaches.

Broome finished his final regular season on the Plains averaging 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.4 blocks per game.

This national player of the year race is one of the great ones, at least in the discussion and arguments it’s generating and in the quality of the two contenders. Auburn senior forward Johni Broome and Duke freshman forward Cooper Flagg would win it running away in most years.
