Arduino is now offering a fully-assembled robot, designed as a base platform for electronics tinkerers' DIY robotics projects. Its hardware and software are open-source, and designed to be hacked.

The whole contraption is radio controlled, with an Arduino handling the mixing for steering duties.

Randy Sarafan, who also happens to be the Technology Editor over on Instructables, gutted a remote-controlled car and swapped the parts for an Arduino board.

The bot is controlled by the user's gestures using a hacked Kinect controller and turned into robotic movement of the Arduino controlled claw. The claw uses servos to move it around.

The Arduino based Snake Robot controlled via the companion Android application Is now available to purchase as three different kits depending on your skill level and required time to completion.
