Three years after The Batman opened in theaters, the script for the sequel is finally complete. The Batman co-writer/director Matt Reeves shared a photo of the script on his Instagram account with the caption “Partners in Crime (Fighters)” with several bat emoji.

It’s been a long wait for an update on “The Batman Part II,” which was originally announced in April 2022, a month after the original Robert Pattinson blockbuster soared into theaters. After several delays, the sequel is now scheduled for Oct. 1, 2027 — five and a half years after the original made more than $772 million at the global box office.

Director and Writer Matt Reeves and Co-Writer Mattson Tomlin have finished their The Batman Part 2 script. The highly anticipated update for the Robert Pattinson-led, long-in-development The Batman 2 arrived in the form of a new picture Reeves shared on X/Twitter.
