In Safari, hold the Option key and press the Reload button in the toolbar. Note that Command-Option-R might also work in Safari, but I cannot find any documentation to back that up.

Seriously missing the Stop/Reload button here. Embedding that button into the URI bar blows. And it makes no sense, it's totally arbitrary. Why not embed the + button as well. Or Webclip. Or aA ...
