Tesla has increased the price of its Model X Plaid all-wheel drive to $94,990 from $89,990 in the United States, the electric vehicle maker's website showed on Thursday.

Tesla also reduced the base price of the Model 3, its least expensive model, by about 6% in January. While overall electric vehicle sales are rising, Tesla's U.S. market share is falling.

Tesla reduced prices for its Model Y rear-wheel drive and Model Y Long Range by $1,000 to $42,990 and $47,990 respectively, representing a discount of 2.3% and 2% from previous prices. Sign up here.
