This was stated in a statement issued by the military authorities in Seoul following the latest incident with Kim Jong-un's regime. On Tuesday, at 5:00 p.m. on the Korean Peninsula, a dozen North Korean soldiers crossed the militarized border into South Korea.

In June last year, North Korean troops violated the border three times, prompting South Korea to fire warning shots. The incidents occurred when the Koreas were embroiled in Cold War-style campaigns like balloon launches and propaganda broadcasts, but they didn't develop into a major source of tensions.

South Korea's military said on Tuesday that it had fired warning shots after about 10 North Korean soldiers violated the military demarcation, after which they returned.
