My current phone (Xiaomi 12 Lite) has IR port and IR Remote App “MI Remote”. It has a very good database of TV and other devices. Not sure if you can download open source of it.

So, I really think it's time that TV makers ditch IR technology, or at the very least move over to something better while ...
