Another year, another award for Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. The Sporting News announced Garrett as their NFL Defensive Player of the Year. It’s the second straight time he has been selected for the award.

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was voted by his peers as the Sporting News' NFL Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

With Garrett off the table, Carter will become an even more valuable draft commodity, as will his draftmates, including Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart and Nic Scourton, Tennessee's James Pearce Jr., Georgia's Mykel Williams and Marshall's Mike Green.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry spoke on Tuesday about the organization's plan to keep Garrett with the franchise until he retires. He's already been with the team since he was drafted in 2017. Garrett won't become a free agent until 2027, but the team is open to exploring an extension with the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Before the official AP awards are announced on Feb. 6, the Browns revealed major news regarding Garrett. The star defensive lineman has been named The Sporting News Defensive Player of the Year. "Clear room on that trophy shelf, Myles!" posted the Browns.
