CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — The replacements for NASA’s two stuck astronauts launched to the International Space Station on Friday night, paving the way for the pair’s return after nine long months.

A SpaceX capsule carrying a fresh crew to the space station launched Friday, setting the stage for the Starliner astronauts to finally come home.

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams arrived at the ISS aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft last June. The duo were flying the capsule's first crewed flight test, which was expected to stay in orbit for about 10 days before flying the pair back to Earth.
