Ohio hunters harvested 13,476 deer during the state's muzzleloader season Jan. 4-7. Last year, hunters checked 12,714 deer during the muzzleloader season, according to an ODNR news release.

Vermont hunters will have archery and muzzleloader deer hunting seasons following the conclusion of the regular season on December 1. Archery deer hunting will continue from December 2 to December 15.

The 16-day statewide muzzleloader season that begins Nov. 29 and ends Dec. 14 is now open to any eligible hunter, even if that hunter participated in the regular firearm season.
