Justin Verlander had a year to forget in 2024. He went 5-6 with a 5.48 ERA in 17 starts with the Houston Astros, and the Astros did not renew his contract for 2025. According to Verlander, Houston had interest in a potential reunion,

The right-hander said that he doesnt look too far ahead, but will always welcome the idea of a return to Houston.
