Typical lesions progress from red or gray macules or papules, to red or gray macules or papules with a central eschar or ulceration ... become hemorrhagic. The skin lesions are tender and painful.

Beyond the semi-conscious state the drug induces, it literally rots people’s skin. Raw wounds erupt into a scaly crust of dead tissue called eschar which, if untreated, can lead to amputation.
