The proposed regulations, which are open for public comment until August 18, 2025, seek to streamline the use and reporting of hunting tags and enhance the Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP).

The New York state DEC is proposing digital hunting tags, a shorter reporting deadline, and new opportunities for youth hunters. Public comments are being accepted until Aug. 18.
