Game Bar in Windows 11/10 includes some useful changes. The app, for instance, now allows you to configure shortcuts of your choice. We know, the app helps you record your gameplay in the background.

There’s no real reason to use desktop icons at this point. I use search to find everything I need on all of my devices, and Steam’s library is a perfectly fine place to launch games from.
