BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Funeral services for Erasmo Castro are scheduled to begin Wednesday. Castro was known in the Brownsville community as an advocate for education and youth.

Castro died on Nov. 25 aged 90, setting off nine days of official mourning, including a four-day military-escorted funeral cortege as his ashes were driven the 600-mile journey from Havana.
