A St. Louis Cardinals fan favorite has used a design similar to the New York Yankees' controversial torpedo bat long before the newest invention was discovered.

This year, players went all out with their bat designs, including some classic designs such as the No. 2 pencil bat and various colors of crayons. The ingenuity didn't stop there, however.

The Yankees hit 15 home runs in three games with several players using the uniquely-shaped “torpedo bat,” and some Dodgers have ordered some to try them out.
