Adam Warlock gained massive popularity during his time in Jim Starlin's Infinity Gauntlet in 1991, where he went on to help take down the fury of the Mad Titan, Thanos.

Given how Vision's story played out in Infinity War, we could easily see him taking on an Adam Warlock-inspired role in Avengers 4. He already has a closer bond to the Infinity Stones than most.

Adam Warlock is also vital to establishing a new status quo after the conflict over the Infinity Gauntlet is ended. When Warlock takes possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, he becomes too powerful.
