SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey​'s appointment is at a very important juncture, with the regulator having a crucial role in monitoring India's fast-growing capital markets.

SEBI holds the trust of India’s population, the Parliament, the government, the investors and industry stakeholders, Pandey pointed out.

Tuhin Kanta Pandey holds an MA in economics from the Punjab University, Chandigarh and an MBA from the University of Birmingham (UK). He has worked in various capacities in the government of Odisha and the government of India.
