A crashed airplane with three dead people inside has been found in Alaska during the search for a flight that went missing Thursday with 10 people aboard, the Coast Guard said Friday.

Planes carry transponders that transmit their real-time location. The Alaska plane stopped sharing that data on Thursday.

The Bering Air Caravan, a single-engine turboprop, was heading from Unalakleet to Nome on Thursday afternoon with nine passengers and a pilot, according to Alaska's Department of Public Safety. Authorities were working to determine its last known coordinates.
