Despite a Minnesota legislator never being recalled in the state’s history, GOP lawmakers are launching an attempt to recall all 66 current DFL members from the Minnesota House of Representatives. FOX 9’s Soyoung Kim explains.

The Minnesota GOP announced recall petitions against every House DFL member on Tuesday. The recall petitions come as a weeks-long boycott continues at the state capitol and what is supposed to be the start of the legislative session.

The Minnesota Republican Party launched a recall election effort this week targeting all House Democrats who are continuing to boycott session, which is now in its fourth week.

The Minnesota GOP says by neglecting their duties these 66 DFL members are violating state statues and their constitutional duties.

The Democrats have been boycotting the legislative session in protest of the GOP's plans to organize with a temporary, one-seat majority.
