Are guests allowed to bring their own food and beverages?

Their email confirmation to me said "Outside food and beverages are also welcome. No alcoholic drinks are sold or allowed to be brought on-board as we are a dry boat"
No, and they do not sell alcohol on board, either. Our group tried getting beers. But at the end of the trip, we were glad we didn’t! It got pretty rough on the way home.
Do you recommend this for kids? Thinking of the Port Townsand to Friday Harbour trip. Kids will be ages 7 & 10. Is it a really LONG day? Will they be bored?

It is not a whole day excursion and the folks that work the boat are knowledgeable and engaging, as long as there is not some safety concern that they need to focus on.
