Ongole Andhra Pradesh

Ongole is a city in Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarters of Prakasam district. It is known for Ongole cattle, an indigenous breed of oxen. The name 'Ongole' is believed to be derived from the word 'Vangaprolu' which later had transformed to 'Vangavolu' and then to modern 'Ongolu'. 'Prolu' means Town in ancient Telugu.
