Best to check with Hotel reception. They will definitely have good knowledge should there be any entertainment in the auditorium section (concerts/functions at Waikiki Shell). Also the tourism bureau should have any info as well. Otherwise it's just great for a good stroll any time of day and soak in the surroundings etc....

Honestly, I would sign up for the snorkeling tours and go to huananumu bay(sorry about the spelling). You would have a much better snorkeling experience. Since you are obviously staying in Oahu, consider taking the snorkel bob'S tour to see the sandbar which is quite unique for Oahu. You will spend a great time snorkeling at 2 locations, see some sea turtles and even enjoy a BBQ lunch they provide. Easy pickups and returns at the local hotels so no driving, just a fun day out in the sun and water. Enjoy your vacation!
Q:
Is this the park that they have the Hula dancers on Leah Day (May Day)
A:
Yes it is. It's spelled Lei for a garland of flowers. The dancing occurs on May 1.
Q:
Is there a hotel nearby?
A:
Kapiolani Park is not far from downtown Waikiki, so lots of hotels within minutes.
